One of the most common criticisms that Muslim women face each day is the covering of their hair. Western women in general and Christian women in particular say that the covering of Muslim women’s hair symbolizes oppression, male domination, and a lack of knowledge. These assessments of Muslim women covering their hair are far from the truth. Muslim women cover their hair because of one simple reason; God has commanded the righteous women to cover themselves. The covering for the Muslim woman is a form of modesty. It symbolizes dignity, righteousness, and a willingness to obey God when the woman cover herself. It may surprise you to know that Christian women are also ordered in the Bible to cover their hair (head). I will give you the evidence from the Bible that Christian women are ordered to cover their hair.
1 Corinthians 11: 4-6 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
These verses from the Bible clearly states that it is a shame for a (Christian) women to pray or prophesies with her head uncovered. These verses are indicating that (Christian) women who pray and do other acts of worship should have their hair covered. Prayer is an act of worship. God has ordered the Muslim women to cover, and now you can see from the verses in the Bible that Christian women are also ordered to cover their hair. Righteous women should not dress like unrighteous women.
The devil has tricked most women to dress like a Muslim woman when she comes home to her husband and dress like an unrighteous woman when she leaves her house. When most women leave the house they put on makeup, lipstick, perfume, toe nail polish, finger nail polish, tight clothes, and comb their hair in a manner that is attractive to men. She beautifies herself and the question is why and for whom? When she comes home to her husband she takes off her makeup, lipstick, eye lashes, put a scarf on or rollers in her hair, puts on a long house coat, and she wonders why her husband doesn’t want to stay home with her.
